Jake's Journey
Meet Jacob Munger, aka Jake!
Named "Employee of the Year" in 2024, Jake first joined us at just fifteen years old and quickly grew into one of our most beloved core team members.
His older sister worked for us as a roller-skating carhop and he wanted a job, too. Well, Jake didn't know how to skate–nor did he have any experience working in a restaurant.
Jake has Down Syndrome, which some might assume would limit his abilities. What we've learned instead is that Jake is exceptionally detail-oriented, takes great pride in doing things well, and is truly a blessing we couldn't imagine being without.
From the moment he stepped into the kitchen, Jake and Charlie, the owner, became the Dynamic Duo–working side by side and building an unbreakable bond. Jake welcomed Charlie into his life with open arms–and Charlie returned that same warmth. Although Charlie no longer helps coach for the Miracle League, you can still find him in the stands, cheering loudly at every one of Jake's softball games.
These two have a passion for classic rock 'n' roll music–you'll often find Jake rocking out, singing and playing his air guitar during his shifts! No matter the circumstances, he takes the time to capture special memories with the people closest to his heart–every day.
